Gérald Gassiot-Talabot was the head of the Blue Guides and the director of Éditions du Chêne within the Hachette Livre group. He also launched the Guide du Routard collection at this publisher.
Gérald Gassiot-Talabot was also an influential art critic. Co-founder of the art magazine Opus international, then critic in the magazine Verso, he had the idea of ??bringing together, under the generic expression of "narrative figuration", the work of young artists from the 1960s - 1980s .
