| General info : | | Donaldson was a brand name used by Blue Production SA, a Belgian fashion company founded in 1983 by Marcy Szwarcburt.
At the time, Donaldson was the first and for a long time the only European clothing brand to have a licensing agreement with The Walt Disney Company. Thus every sweater, jacket, skirt or pants had the Disney character on it.
As of 2006 that exclusivity was no longer there and you could also buy T-shirts with Mickey Mouse in several mass chains.
In 2006 the struggling company was taken over by a group of investors and the license agreement with Walt Disney was halted.
In 2008 the company was declared bankrupt.
The planned takeover by Key Winner Industrial Limited was blocked by the Brussels prosecutor. The Belgian representative of Key Winner had a fraudulent past. Sixteen employees lost their job. | |
