General info : | | Christiaan Francies Mariette (Chris) Van den Durpel (born 7 October 1960 in Lokeren,, Belgium) is a Belgian imitator and actor.
He became known for his persiflages on Paul Jambers (Paul Schampers) and Herman Le Compte and self-invented characters such as Kamiel Spiessens, Jimmy B., Snel Eddy, Ronny King and Firmin Crets. In addition, he mainly enjoys fame as a copyist of well-known Flemish and Dutch people.
Chris Van den Durpel was initially a tutor for lecture and dictation in Lokeren. Van den Durpel made his debut on TV as a theater agent in the former youth club Merlina (1983). He presented De Peulschil (a youth program), Kwislijn (a telephone game) and Kapers op de Kust.
His breakthrough came through his imitations in the quiz show De Drie Wijzen on TV1. | |
