General info : | | Prochownick was the brand name used by an Italian tie company. In 1880 Hermann Prochownick arrived in Milan from Leipzig to start producing ties, scarves, and foulards in silk and wool.
In the 1930s his sons Carlo and Luigi italianised their surname to become Procovio (but they kept the original company name). They expanded the business and start exporting abroad.
Later Alberto Procovio took over.
The factory is or was located in Via Bandello in Milan, Italy.
At some point in time the company had 65 employees and about 1,700 clients and 70% of their Prochownick label products were destined for export. They did not manufacture for third parties.
The company still was active in the 1970s, 80s and 90s.
