Born in Akita Prefecture in 1950, he moved to Tokyo at the age of 20, and has been active as a nude photographer since the late 1970s.
In the early 1980s, his collection of bondage works, “Strange Fruit,” received a strong response from overseas, and he held a solo exhibition in New York.
In addition to directing Nikkatsu's bondage movies and being active in video-related fields, he is also a famous photographer for works such as "Mirror Room," which is reminiscent of Nobuyoshi Araki, who took close-up photographs of women in a closed-room hotel.
