| General info : | | Quirit is the pen name of Jean-Marie Mathues (born in 1953 in Tienen, Belgium) is a Belgian cartoonist.
Quirit studied chemical engineering at the National Higher Institute for Nuclear Energy Companies in Brussels. In 1976, he debuted as a cartoonist in Knack. His fame grew thanks to his publications in the magazine De Zwijger during the first half of the 1980s.
He published in P-Magazine and Gazet van Antwerpen, among others. Abroad, he published in De Volkskrant, the Neue Revue in Germany, and Punch and Quo in France, among others. | |
