General info : Preetma Singh was named Managing Fashion Editor at Nordstrom in 2017. She was born in Toronto and lived there until she was 12 when her family moved to Phoenix. They moved to Toronto in 2016 after living in NYC for 8 years. Prior to Nordstrom she had a stint in 2016 at Flare in Canada. From 2014 to 2015 Preetma was the Market Director at Nylon Magazine. During the two preceding years she served as Market Editor at WSJ, The Wall Street Journal Magazine. Other editorial positions include Associate Market Editor at Marie Claire from 2012 to 2013, Fashion Assistant at Vogue from 2011 to 2012, and a stint Stylesight and Refinery 29 in 2010. Preetma started her career as a corporate lawyer, first as a Summer Clerk at the U.S. District Court, District of Middle Tennessee in 2006 and from 2007 to 2010 as Associate at King & Spalding LLP, a law firm in Atlanta. After two years years as a corporate lawyer, Preetma Singh — who had long balanced dueling passions for clothes and policy — decided to give the fashion industry a try. She started the Working Girl, Esq. in 2010, a personal style blog that documented what it was like wearing Balenciaga to a buttoned-up office. Off the clock, she plays the drums in a band called Vomitface. Along the way, she has become a bit of a street-style star as well, known most for her creative sense of style and signature green hair. She studied Law at the Vanderbilt University Law School where she graduated in 2008 and Politics at Princeton University where she graduated in 2005. She resides in Seattle, Washington.
