Alexis Stroukoff (born in Paris, France) was a fashion and celebrity photographer who worked for magazines such as Vogue Paris in the 1970 and 80s.
Born in Paris to Russian parents who emigrated during the 1917 revolution, Alexis Stroukoff entered photography school in 1960. He started his career as an assistant of photographer Lipnizky and moved on to the publisher Filipachi to shoot celebrities. Later he would work with Jean Marie-Perrier at the magazine Salut les Copains.
In 1971 he returns from a stay in England to Paris and later starts as a fashion photographer for Vogue Paris and became artistic director of the magazine in 1986.
He left the magazine in 1991, to design the Aura magazine for Art Curial with Dorothée Lalane.
He made several record covers for French artists such as Joe Dassin, Claude François and Chantal Goya during the 1960s and 70s.
In 2015 the book "Alexis Stroukoff 50 And De Photographie - Semble-t-il - Les Années Salut Les Copains" was published by Joe Editions.
