Sylvana Ward Durrett (born 1981 or 1982) was named Special Projects Director at Vogue (US), a position she held till 2016 when she left the magazine to launch the luxury childrenswear e-boutique Maisonette.
She still worked with Condé Nast afterwards as a contibuting editor to Vogue.
She landed her first gig out of college at Condé Nast and spent the next 14 years climbing the ranks at Vogue, where she eventually took over as the director of special projects.
Enter the Met Gala, a production she headed up and helped make an international phenomenon, until she departed the magazine in 2016.
Together with her co-founder, fellow Vogue veteran Luisana Mendoza Roccia, she launched the luxury childrenswear e-boutique Maisonette in March 2017.
Sylvana studied at Princeton where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature in 2003.
She is the daughter of Rosana DeSoto and David S. Ward, both of Los Angeles. Her father, a screenwriter and director, won an Academy Award for best original screenplay for “The Sting.” He was a writer on “The Sting II,” “The Milagro Beanfield War” and “Sleepless in Seattle.” His films as a director include “Major League,” which he also wrote, and its first sequel.
Her mother is an actress.
She resides in New York, United States.
