General info :
Chris Thomson is a British glam photographer.
He studied Photography in Medwey and Derby.
After graduating he started for a studio that was in charge of creating the catalog for Habitat, the interior brand.
In 1970 Chris Thomson set up his own studio in London shooting Ad campaigns on large format & began to develop his distinct style of lighting & composition. Chris’s work then evolved from studio to shooting mainly on location overseas for Press Campaigns & Billboards, clients include alcohol, vehicles & swimwear.
Chris has also shot Calendars for International companies such as Heineken & BMW. as well as Glamour Calendars and became known as the “Calendar King”. He has gained recognition in the industry with awards for Photography and Calendar work.
Client lists included major international Advertising Agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, McCanns, Leo Burnett, DMB&B and Chris began to receive requests to direct TV commercials.
Joining Film Production Companies in London as a film director & D.P. shooting commercials for Wines and Spirits, Vehicles and Hair & Beauty products. In 1985 published his first book on photography containing portfolio & personal images, in association with ZOOM Magazine in Paris/France. OLYMPUS Cameras also began to sponsor Chris to promote their cameras & lenses.
Chris contributes regularly to the media with articles on creative Imagery and his images appear on magazine covers & bookstands worldwide.
