General info :	Richard L. Shaefer is or was a photographer and illustrator best known for his illustrations on record sleeves, books and in magazines such as VIVA, PHOTO, Playboy and ZOOM during the 1970s and '80s. After graduating from the Los Angeles Art College Center Of Design he moved to New York in 1973 where he started his career as a photographer. Together with his partner William King they started coloring their photographs. His style can be described as Californian baroque and extravagant.
