Henrik Georgsson (born in 1964 in Borås, Sweden) is an award-winning Swedish director of theatrical feature films, TV-drama series and documentaries. Georgsson studied documentary direction from 1992 to 1995 at the Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. He worked as an assistant director for the well-known director of documentaries Stefan Jarl. He has made many documentaries for Swedish television. After his short feature film Välkommen till Tomas & Jill (2002), he made his first feature film Sandor slash Ida (2005). He also made the children’s film The Chameleon Strikes Back (LasseMajas detektivbyrå - Kameleontens hämnd, 2008). He is probably best known for his work with the international hit-series “Bron” / “The Bridge” which has received several international awards and nominations. His more recent work includes the six hour long true crime documentary series “Knutby - I blind tro” / “Pray Obey Kill” for HBO (a documentary about a Swedish small-town congregation that turned into a sect with fatal results) and the British crime drama series “Grace” based on the bestselling Roy Grace novels by Peter James. In 2025 Henrik is directing “Vaka” for Amazon Prime, set to premiere early 2026.
