General info :
Les Copains is the brand name used by OVS SpA, an Italian clothing company since 2022.

Les Copains was founded in the late 1950s in Bologna by Mario Bandiera, and takes its name from a radio program of that time, Salut Les Copains .
It produces knitwear, initially destined to be exported to Germany, then manages to revolutionize the world of knitwear with the mini-pullover made famous by the girls of Gianni Boncompagni 's television team. In the 70s the so called bell bottoms arrive, while the 80s are characterized by classic-sporty blazers.

In 1985 the company transformed, from artisanal to industrial, with very differentiated production lines: Bmv Italia of Bologna, the parent company (women's and children's collections), the Fpb Italia of Longastrino , Ferrara (men's collections), the Polo of Forlì (knitwear) and the Confit Moda of Reggio Emilia (women's outerwear).
Subsequently, the company uses cashmere in particular after having acquired 50% of Maglificio di Marsciano (Umbrian company specializing in cashmere sweaters).

In 2014 Graeme Black was appointed as creative director. His collection is presented for the first time on February 21 at Milano Moda Donna. Later Stefania Pontoni Bandiera, third wife of the founder, became creative director.

In October 2017 Alessandro Mariani, brand manager for twenty years, was appointed CEO of the company already undergoing restructuring.
In September 2018, when rumors about a possible sale are already circulating, the company celebrates its 60th anniversary with an event in Milan at Palazzo Reale but without the founder of the brand, who has been ill for some time. In October 2018 Mario Bandiera passed away at the age of 87.

One year after the death of the founder, the company, put into liquidation in July with the collective dismissal of 80 employees, was sold to Super Srl, a cloathiong company from the Zambelli family, Alberto and their son Rodolfo, textile entrepreneurs from the Bolognese area with the Bruno's knitwear factory. 43 employees are recruited.
In March 2022, Les Copains was declared bankrupt by the Court of Bologna and in July of the same year the brand was acquired by OVS SpA (formerly Oviesse ), a clothing company for men, women and children, an acronym for O rganizzazione V endite S peciali. OVS is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange in the FTSE Italia Small Cap index.
As of August 2022 the www.lescopains.com website displays "Maintenance Mode".
