Carol Kramer (born August 16, 1940, in Chicago, USA - died Aug. 13, 2019 in New York, USA (aged 79)) was a publishing professional who served as en executive editor for many lifestyle magazines.
She was the Executive Editor at Hearst Magazines from 2004 to 2006 and has been an editor for many well known magazines before that, such as Executive Editor at Gruner & Jahr from 2002 to 2004, Executive Editor at Rosie Magazine from 2001 to 2002, at Real Simple from 1999 to 2001, at The Walt Disney Company from 1996 to 1999 and at Martha Stewart Living from 1994 to 1996.
Prior to Martha Stewart Living Carol was Senior Editor at Allure Magazine where she started in 1990 as Articles Editor.
She also was a lifestyle editor at 7 Days, a city weekly that folded in 1990.
Carol Kramer started her career as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune where she began as a cub reporter in Neighborhood News in 1969 and promoted to New York Correspondent until she left for New York in 1975 and became a writer for New York Daily News and an editor at the paper’s short-lived afternoon edition, the Daily News Tonight, started by Clay Felker till 1983.
Carol is an alumna from Northwestern University where she earned a Master of Science degree in Journalism and graduated cum laude from Marquette University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
She volunteered every week at a local homeless shelter for nearly a decade.
She resided in New York where sshe died after a long illness.
