Kauko Röyhkä & Narttu oli suomirokin valtavirrasta poikkeava yhtye, joka teki omaperäistä ja vaikuttavaa musiikkia. "Lauralle", "Paska kaupunki", "Talo meren rannalla" ja "Paha maa" ovat lauluja, jotka elävän suomenkielisen rockin kaanonissa.

Keikoilla tanssilavoilla Röyhkä sonnustautui pussihou-suihin ja ratsastussaappaisiin. Eturivin tyypit näyttivät keskisormea, ja hän hakkasi heitä ratsastusraipalla. Suomi ei ollut valmis kohtaamaan Röyhkän kaltaista artistia, mutta hän ei siitä piitannut vaan puski läpi väkisin.

Nartun jälkeenkin Röyhkä on jatkanut uraansa hämmästyttävän monipuolisena kirjailijana ja muusikkona säilyttäen yleisön mielenkiinnon 40 vuoden ajan. Romaanit Kaksi aurinkoa ja Miss Farkku-Suomi sekä Ville Haapasalon kanssa tehdyt Et kuitenkaan usko -kirjat ovat olleet menestyksiä.

Vaeltava vitsaus on hauska, koskettava ja rietas kertomus erikoisesta taiteilijapersoonasta. Röyhkä ei piilottele vastoinkäymisiään tai virheitään vaan suhtautuu kokemaansa ilkikurisella vimeellä. Satanismi ja seksiseikkailut saavat omat lukunsa. Hän osoittaa, että Suomessa voi menestyä tekemällä kaiken eri tavalla kuin toiset. Jos hän jotain vihaa, niin tekopyhyyttä: "Taiteilijalle on tärkeintä ettei ole tylsä".
