Description (by producer & GT in English only) :
The Chateau Valcombe “Epicure Red” 2014 is a round, well structured and well balanced. You can drink it right now or wait over 10 years. The best would be to wait 3 to 4 years as its potential is huge. Produced from old vines (more than 55 years), it is perfect served with all what you will eat. The annual production is of 40,000 bottles. Terroir : Situated in the town of St Pierre de Vassols, at an altitude of 250 meters, on hillsides oriented north-west, facing the Dentelles de Montmirail. The soil is vegetal, clay and sand based. Our vines are manually disbudded. Green harvest. Our grapes are then hand-picked, enabling us to select the best berries. The process involves racking and returning. Maturing in concrete tanks. winetasting Color: Intense red. Ruby color. Nose: Predominant notes of ripe fruit, cherry. Palate: Unctuous and round on the attack. Perfectly balanced with freshness, great structure with smooth tannins on the finish. Displays a good length and strength. The aromatic palette spreads from ripe fruit to more aromatic liquorice flavors. Finish with notes of stone and plum.
