| Notes : | | In 1953 d'Exsteyl sets up his own publishing house “ 't Lanteernken” (in the Sint Niklaasstraat in Ghent). With a series under the title “Bakerstreet-Mysterie” he wants to focus on crime stories by Belgian writers. The first (and only) publication in the series is his own novel 'De Dames Verbrugge', thus considered a self-published work.
In 1964 'De Dames Verbrugge' is reprinted in the Flemish Pocket series under the title 'Rapsodie in Bloed'.
In 1973 a film based on the book was released under the title Kruiswegstraat 6 in French, with Dutch subtitles (Daska Films, 90 minutes) and later in a new version (French and Dutch spoken, French and Dutch subtitles (Alvos Films, 90 minutes). | |
