| General info : | | Irma Records is the business and label name used by Irma Records SRL, a Bologna based Italian company founded in 1988 by Umbi Damiani and Massimo Benini.
It is known for releasing alternative acoustic lounge and dance music.
The label initially focused on the house scene.
Especially the 1990 dance hit by Double Dee “Found Love” topped the dance charts around the world, including a number 1 position in the USA Billboard Dance Charts.
The company gradually got involved into many different genres starting like Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, Lounge / Chill Out.
During the years approaching to new millennium, IRMA continued to deal with the most interesting kinds of music appearing on the international club scene like Drum’n’Bass, Breakbeat, Jazz House and Nu Jazz and Brazilian music.
In 2004 another big international success arrived with the Brazilian Duo Kaleidoscopio with the hit “Você Me Apareceu”.
From 2008 on IRMA welcomed indie music ranging from pop to rock and the electro scene.
