| General info : | | Delali Ayivi (born in USA) is a Togolese and German photographer and art director.
She studied Creative Direction for Fashion at London College of Fashion/UAL.
She was born in the US and was educated in Malawi, then London, where she first picked up a camera and started shooting.
Born to a German mother and Togolese father, and growing up in the former before moving to study at London College of Fashion, Delali’s great grandfather was one of the first photographers in Togo. Heritage, research, collaboration and appreciation play a large part in Delali’s perspective on creativity, informing her inclusive practice.
In 2019 Ayivi started the project Togo Eye with Malaika Nabillah, and together they seek out and collaborate with innovative Togolese fashion designers to create work that documents and empowers their creative community. Ultimately, they aim to create a directory for the Togolese creative landscape that will facilitate collaboration, national trade and consumption to strengthen their creative economy. | |
