Paul Wagner graduated from the Arts Decoratifs school of Strasbourg (1964) where he obtained the Paris’ Beaux-Arts school Superior National Diploma. He then entered Marie Claire magazine as a graphic artist and made his way into the press (participating in 11 magazines from various genres : Votre Beauté, Lui, Podium, etc.) until he reached the position of Vogue France Artistic Director in 1984.
Surrounded by the most talented fashion designers and photographers such as Guy Bourdin, Helmut Newton, Jeanloup Sieff, Georges Hurrel, Horst and Herb Ritts, Paul Wagner developed a taste for aestheticism and a passion for the visual world. Kindly advised by his masters, he found himself tempted by photography and specialized into decoration, still life, and exoticism.
