General info : Georges Rech is the eponymous brand name launched by Georges Rech, a French designer. He opened his house in 1962. His idea was to create luxury ready-to-wear. In 1986, Georges Rech was asked by the General Manager of Air France to create new uniforms for the ground staff.. In 1990, Georges Rech retired and sold his entire business to the English group Courtaulds. The CEO of the brand Georges Rech at the time, Jean Jacques Wegnes, reports that the idea was to find a new axis of development for Courtaulds Textile. In 1997 Courtaulds was bought by the American conglomerate Sara Lee Corporation. In 2004, Georges Rech Japon was bought by the Japanese management company Itokin. In 2005, the ready-to-wear group Apostrophe, founded in 1968 and headed by Patrick Hazan, took control of the Georges Rech. The headquarters are now located at 21 rue de Berri in Paris and the building was built in the shape of an H for the Herald Tribune newspaper. For winter 2016, the Georges Rech brand has asked Christine Phung to revisit the house's classics, through a capsule collection. Fluid and colorful, the collection oscillates between strict elegance and luxury sportswear.
