| General info : | | Erich 'Eric' Klemm (born in 1939 in Germany) is a German photographer living in Canada.
Born in a small German town in 1939, Erich Klemm pursued a 5-year course at art school in Trier, Germany, from 1956 to 1961.
After working for 7 years as an art director in Heidelberg, Klemm turned seriously to photography in 1968 when an image of his was published in Twen, one of Germany's top magazines at the time. Willi Fleckhaus, the influential art director, offered him a job at the magazine.
That same year, Klemm was recognized by the prestigious Art Director's Club of New York for a specific image that was reproduced in many international magazines. It was this image that jump-started his career.
Klemm's first book, Leute, was published in Mannheim in 1971, followed closely by Girls Girls in 1973. Malediven would follow in 1990, Florabundance in 2008 and Silent Warriors in 2009.
After living on a tropical Island of the Maldives and
in Dordogne, France, he moved 1998 to Canada and now lives and
works near Vancouver, British Columbia. | |
