| General info : | | Screen NSW is an agency of the Government of New South Wales that assists, promotes and strengthens the screen industry in that state of New South Wales, Australia.
The agency aims to promote Australia’s cultural identity, encourage employment in all aspects of screen production, encourage investment in the industry, enhance the industry’s export potential, encourage innovation and enhance quality in the industry.
The agency is led by its chief executive, presently Courtney Gibson, since November 2015. The chief executive is responsible to the Executive Director of Arts NSW, who is in turn responsible to the Secretary of the Department of Justice. The agency advises the Minister for the Arts, presently the Hon. Don Harwin MLC, who is ultimately responsible to the Parliament of New South Wales.
Screen NSW was formerly known as the NSW Film & Television Office.
In April 2017 Create NSW was formed, a newly amalgamated agency incorporating Arts NSW and Screen, as the NSW Government's agency for arts, screen and culture in NSW. | |
