The company was founded by Claudio Yanes in 1881 in Madrid.
Jesus and Manuela Yanes were the third generation owners active since the 1970s. Together they open their first establishment in the Salamanca district of Madrid.
It is Jesus Yanes who gives his name (stylized as Jesvs Yanes) to the family business during that period.
In the 1980s the fourth generation (Marian, Cristina, Jesús, Juan, and Luis Yanes) takes over and the name is shortened to Yanes.
