General info :
The brand name JBugs was used twice during the last decades: originally since its inception in the 1980s till it was purchased and discontiniued in 1997 and later when the new company shortened its name to JBugs in 2016.

JBugs was originally the brand name used by a small VW upholstery manufacturing business founded by TMI Upholstery's Tuccinardi brothers.

At the time they were operating inside the "Car & Truck Depot" building in Hawthorne, CA. The Tuccinardi brothers decided to focus on their manufacturing process, and listed the retail operation "JBugS" for sale.

In 1997 California Pacific Bugs purchased the JBugs name and rights from TMI Upholstery, and the two businesses were merged into California Pacific JBugs.

California Pacific JBugs initially started as "Pacific Bugs" in 1988, which later merged with "California Custom Interiors''. "Pacific Bugs" was founded in 1988 by Mike Watson in Oceanside California, specializing in classic VW interiors and rubber seals.

In the early 1990s Mike Watson purchased mail order upholstery shop "California Custom Interiors" (located in Fallbrook, CA). The merger of the 2 companies resulted in a merger of the 2 names. "Pacific Bugs" "became "California Pacific".

Local businessman Gary Vogl purchased "California Pacific" in 1997 from Mike Watson. Under his guidance the California Pacific staff grew and we expanded locations.
In 1997 "California Pacific" purchased the "JBugs" name and rights from TMI Upholstery, and officially became "California Pacific JBugs".

In 2016 "California Pacific JBugs" was renamed once more to simply "JBugs" and now offers a full array of aftermarket Volkswagen parts.
