General info :
DeLaneau was the brand name of Delaneau SA, a Swiss watch manufacturer founded in 1949 in Biel by Rolf and Yolanda Tschudin.
DeLaneau was among the first Swiss watch companies, that started producing watches with jewelery garnish.
DeLaneau was named 'Le Joaillier de la Montre' or the jeweler of watches.
In 1997 DeLaneau company was headed by Thevenaz family and its headquarters was moved to Geneva.
DeLaneau wrist watch production was limited by 1500 pieces a year. The average price of a DeLaneau watch was about 100.000 CHF in 2017.
DeLaneau watch company produced limited wrist watch series, never more than 200 pieces of every model. All models were hand-finished. During the last decade of its existence DeLaneau manufactured only “Piece Unique” models made by order for collectors and production numbers dropped below 100 per year.
The brand had established its workshop in 2001 in Geneva, 10 Quai Général-Guisan and opened a single-brand boutique on rue du Rhône in 2010. Unfortunately, a business model solely based on direct sales to private customers did not withstand the shock of the crisis felt in 2014.
In financial difficulties since 2014 DeLaneau ceased its activities in 2017. The eight employees of the brand have received their dismissal letter.
