Coty is the business name of Coty, Inc., an American multinational beauty and personal care products company founded in Paris by François Coty in 1904.
With its subsidiaries and partners, Coty develops, produces, markets and distributes fragrances, makeup, skin care, nail care and professional hair products. Coty owns approximately 77 brands in 2018.

Coty is one of the world's largest beauty companies – and the leader in the fragrance category, with more than $8 billion in revenue in its last fiscal year ending June 2019. Coty acquired 41 beauty brands from Procter & Gamble in 2016, becoming the world number one in fragrances, number 2 in hair color and professional care and styling products , and number 3 in the color cosmetics sector.

Marketed perfume brands include Miu Miu, Adidas, Lacoste, Mexx, Marc Jacobs, Joop!; Hugo Boss, Gucci, Davidoff, Chloé, Burberry, just to name a few.


The company has approximately 20,000 employees, present in 46 countries, as of mid-2018. Coty's global headquarters are located in London. The Consumer Beauty, Luxury and Professional Beauty divisions are respectively based in New York , Paris and Geneva.

Coty is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the name “COTY”. The JAB fund is Coty's main shareholder, with a 60% stake.
