General info :
Marius Lesoeur (born on 7 January 1910 in Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis, France - died 16 May 2003 in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, France) was a producer and writer, known for his films in the exploitation genre.
He is the founder of the production house Eurociné and had a close collaboration with director Jesús Franco.

He started his film career when founding Paris-Nice Production, a small production house and launches into the making of some comedies, dramas or detective films where we meet Dany Carel or Lino Ventura. He produced the adaptation of a play, "8 Women in Black", with dialogue by Frédéric Dard long before François Ozon made the remake. But already the bizarre projects appear such as "Zig et Puce Sauvent Nenette" taken from the comic strip where the lead role is played by an actor in a penguin costume.

In 1957 he establishes the production company Eurociné and starts with serious films, followed by "paella westerns" before meeting Jesús Franco in 1961.
Their first collaboration, The Awful Dr. Orlof (Gritos En La Noche) from 1962 contains nude and gore and becomes an instant cult classic.
The machine is launched: for 25 years (and especially after 1968 when the firm takes its cruising speed). Eurociné will release the craziest projects of French cinema.
Other directors shoot more sporadically for the company like Jean Rollin or Alain Payet. Jean-Marie Pallardy even made some of his first erotic films there.

His last project "Chasing Barbara" seems to have never been finished by Rollin.
After his death in 20023, Eurociné continued releasing their catalog but the company ultimately was dissolved in 2015.
