Akili King (born ca. 1992 in in Chicago, Illinois, USA) was named Beauty Assistant at American Vogue in 2018.
She is also a Writer for Milk Makeup since 2018.
Her writing covers the spheres of beauty, wellness, and culture, and her bylines can be seen in the likes of Milk Makeup, Fashion Fair, DRØME, both print issues of NeuNeu Media Magazine, No Man’s Land, and more.
She has written one poetry book, AWAKENING, so far, with hopes of writing many more. King has also worked and interned for companies such as The Wing, The FADER, Milk Studios, Burrell Communications Firm, and She Who Dares, to name a few.

She was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, until she moved to Paris for her freshman year of college for the NYU Paris program.
Akili is a graduate of the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Studies, where she focused on Creative Writing, Africana Studies, and Journalism, along with a French Minor.
She resides in Brooklyn, New York, United States.
