Mrs. Rosenthal was born in London. She started her career as women's editor of The London Evening Standard. She joined Vogue in 1973, leaving to serve as a vice president of Colgate-Palmolive Inc. in the Helena Rubinstein division for five years. She then returned to Vogue, where she became director of special projects for beauty and fitness.
Her previous positions include beauty director for Harper’s Bazaar; women’s editor of The London Evening Standard. She is also on the board of Phoenix House Foundation, Inc. since February 2007.
Mrs. Rosenthal was widowed in 1983.
