General info :
Monty Coles (born ca. 1944) is a fashion and lifestyle photographer.
Coles left school in Sussex at 16 to train as a stockbroker. Seven years later he was working on Wall Street, partying and clubbing with a bunch of photographer pals. One of them asked him to act as his agent and Coles found he fancied this creative, picture-taking lark himself.
Travelling to Tokyo with model Twiggy in the mid-60s certainly helped his career.
Monty worked and lived in London, New York and Paris and was regularly travelling the globe in the 1980s with magazines such as British & Australian Vogue, before moving to Australia where he shot major stories with Vogue for over a decade.
Monty then became Adjunct Professor of RMIT University in the School of Media and Communication in the College of Design and Social Context.
He resides in the Greater Melbourne Area.
