General info :
Frederick David Thorpe (born ca. 1940) is a retired British graphic artist.
He drew many colourful and detailed loading screens for ZX Spectrum games released by companies like Ocean Software, Imagine and US Gold etc.
He always drew his loading screens on squared paper before converting them to the Spectrum with Melbourne Draw.
Ultimately he left the software industry after 1987 with the introduction of digitizing, when any skills he had acquired were no longer required by the software companies and returned to architecture
He produced QUAY WEST which is a prestige office building located next to the Imperial War Museum North on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal.

As of 2010 he resides in Manchester, UK.
