Steve Norris (born in 1959 in Harefield, England, UK) is a Film Producer.
He was first credited in 1994 for Being Human and more recently in 2015 for Kill Your Friends.
He serves as Executive Producer for Pinewood Films, the film production arm of Pinewood Studios which he created in 2010.
Norris joined the industry in 1977, and then moved to WB in Burbank, subsequently returning to London to head Enigma Productions, overseeing such films as THE KILLING FIELDS and THE MISSION before returning to the US again as SNR VP for Columbia Pictures.
In 1989, he reformed Enigma Enigma Productions with David Puttnam, producing MEMPHIS BELLE, MEETING VENUS and THE WAR OF THE BUTTONS (all for Warner Bros) and the Golden Globe winning THE BURNING SEASON for HBO.
In 1994, Norris produced LE CONFESSIONAL, winning the Canadian Academy award for Best Film, and a year later, MY LIFE SO FAR for Miramax Films.
From 1997 to 2006, Norris was British Film Commissioner for the UK Film Council overseeing the most significant growth in UK production seen in a century with more than $4 billion of international production into the UK.
In 2006, he became MD of Framestore, winning its first Academy Award for THE GOLDEN COMPASS, also co-producing several films including the highly regarded HARRY BROWN with Michael Caine.
