Actes Sud BD is a business name used by Actes Sud SA, a French book publishing company located in Arles and founded in 1987.
Actes Sud BD refers to the comic book publishing activity with BD standing for Bande Dessinée.
The business was originally created in 1978 in a village in the valley of Les Baux, by Hubert Nyssen and his wife, Christine Le Boeuf, soon joined by co-founders Françoise Nyssen, Bertrand Py and Jean-Paul Capitani.
In 1983 the business relocated to Arles and more recently a Paris based branch was opened.
