General info :
Papyrus is the brand name used by Papyrus AB a paper merchant.
The history of Papyrus began back in 1895 when Marcus Wallenberg bought a paper mill in Mölndal on Sweden's west coast and made it famous under the name Papyrus.
In 1987 STORA acquires 100% of the shares in Papyrus paper mill where the company has previously been a partner and thus becomes the sole owner.
In 1999 STORA and Enso announce their merge. Papyrus becomes the brand for the wholesale business and all Stora Enso merchants change their names to Papyrus.
In 2008 Altor and Triton acquires Papyrus AB from Stora Enso OYJ.
In 2003, Papyrus was the first European paper merchant to receive a FSC® certification.
From 2008 to 2015 Papyrus AB acquires Arto Emballasje (NO), Siisti-Piste Oy (FI), INPA (SE), Städshopen (SE) and OSPAP (CZ).
In 2017, the parent company Papyrus was renamed OptiGroup AB.
Papyrus is now part of OptiGroup, a European distribution Group. with focus on rebalancing the business portfolio to reduce the dependence on non-core products and build a Nordic fortress. OptiGroup holds a leading position in the Nordic region in the distribution of cleaning & hygiene, personal protection, catering and foodservice.
