Stef Mitchell (born in Australia) is a photographer and artist.
She started her career as a photographer's assistant and during the fleeting moments of calm she'd vent her drawings on paper with a marker or a ballpoint before becoming a fashion photographer herself.
She worked for Vogue US, M Le Monde, Self Service and iD-magazine a.o. and did advertising campaigns for Paco Rabanne, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Calvin Klein a.o.
In 2014, Mitchell released New Wives Tales, a limited-edition collection of her drawings, published by Boo-Hooray Gallery.
In 2016, she debuted Girl, her first solo exhibition, at Red Hook Labs.
In 2021 she lived in Brooklyn, New York and as of 2024 she resides in Paris, France.
