General info :
RCS Editori S.p.A. publishes newspapers, magazines, music albums and books.
The Company is a subsidiary of HdP - Holding di Partecipazioni S.p.A. and was founded in 1986.
RCS Editori is head of the group’s entire daily and periodical publishing business, its advertising business and its bookselling division. In 1990, RCS Editori bought into Unidad Editorial S.A, a Spanish publishing group, publisher of the country’s second major daily newspaper El Mundo.
In March 1997 it was decided to split the group and set up the media holding known at the time as Holding di Partecipazioni Industriali S.p.A., a name that the shareholders would later vote to change, on 9 June 1998, to HdP S.p.A., owner of 100% of the share capital of RCS Editori, and went public.
On 15 April 2003, HdP shareholders voted again to change the company name, as of 1st May 2003, to Rizzoli Corriere della Sera MediaGroup S.p.A., abbreviated to RCS MediaGroup S.p.A. or RCS S.p.A..

The corporate history begins in the early 1900s when Angelo Rizzoli set up a one-man printing business in Milan.
In 1929, Rizzoli was transformed into a joint-stock company; in 1952 the shareholders of Rizzoli voted to change the company name to Rizzoli Editore S.p.A. and open bookshops in Rome, Milan and New York.
In 1974, Rizzoli acquired the entire share capital of Editoriale Corriere della Sera S.a.s., publisher of the daily newspaper Corriere della Sera; consequently, the shareholders of Rizzoli voted to change the company name to Rizzoli–Corriere della Sera.
In 1986, the shareholders of Rizzoli–Corriere della Sera voted to change the company name once again, this time to RCS Editori S.p.A.
