Annick Geenen (born in 1970 in Leopoldsburg, Belgium) is a photographer.
She studied Visual Arts - Photography at the Stedelijk Hoger Instituut voor Visuele Communicatie en Vormgeving and obtained the title of Master in Visual Arts from the Media, Arts & Design Academy, both in Genk.
She was in residence with the fashion photographer Marcel Van der Vlugt in Amsterdam (1991-1992) and from 2005 to 2007 in residence at Jan Fabre’s Troubleyn Laboratorium in Antwerp. After this period Annick Geenen works on personal artistic projects and as a freelance photographer for various editors, choreographers and designers. The work transmits certain landscape’s rusticity and apathy, a metaphor of the different moods people sometimes succumb to. Her portraits manages to counterpose to such utopian aspirations that move us, and help keep active against the never ending search for that which we desire, that which we exteriorize through music, and the arts in general.

Her photographic images were presented and exhibited in the collections of Raf Simons, Veronique Branquinho, Heaven Tanudiredja, Alex Schrijvers, Harvey Bouterse, Wouter Hoste, Revital Avidar, Hideki Seo, Ilia Eckardt, Hilde Frunt, Essential Antwerp, Scabal, Luciano Benetton, Kathleen Missotten, Casimir, Modenatie Antwerp, Anne Pastré, Anke Loh, Veronique Leroy, Jean-Paul Knott, Delvaux, The Flanders Fashion Institute (FFI), Colette Paris and many others. She exhibited in Vooruitzicht Antwerp, De Warande Turnhout, Fashion Museum Hasselt, Gallery S & H De Buck (Ghent), the Flemish Parliament (Brussels) and various cultural centers in Flanders.
Her work has been published in VISION magazine, Kwintessens, ISEL art and culture magazine, the Standard magazine, Knack and Knack Weekend magazine, Blend, AAA art magazine, De Lichte Kamer, Designers Against Aids (Ludion), Moi Veronique Branquinho Toute Nue (MoMu) , Delvaux (Lannoo), Contradictions: 350 Years Antwerp Academy, The Fashion Book (Phaidon) and The Rage of Staging (Lannoo).

Today she continues to work on her artistic practice and oeuvre.

Annick Geenen teaches photography at the bachelor and master program of Visual Arts Photography at LUCA School of Arts (Belgium).
