General info :
Paavo Emil Cajander (24 December 1846 Hämeenlinna, Finland – 14 June 1913 Helsinki, Finland) was a Finnish poet and translator. He was renowned for his translation into Finnish of Shakespeare's works and of Johan Ludvig Runeberg's The Tales of Ensign Stål.

While 'Maamme', Finland's national anthem, is often credited to Cajander, it was originally translated by Julius Krohn and this translation was later adjusted by Cajander.
