General info :
Serge Snoeck (born 21 October 1923 - died 23 October 1997, Gent, Belgium (aged 74)) was a publisher of books, and the sixth generation in the publisher's family.

He is credited for transforming the annual lifestyle book 'Snoecks' into it's most popular glossy format.

Snoecks appeared for the first time in 1923, but there was already a 'Kleine Snoeck’s Almanak' in 1782.

In the 1960s Serge Snoeck expanded the 'great almanac'. There was more room for photography, nude, plastic arts, film and design. Snoecks dropped "the apostrophe" in the 1969 edition and was given the subtitle 'literary yearbook for south and north'. The yearbook was published for the first time in Flanders and in the Netherlands. The book is since then marketed as a lifestyle product until its publication was ended in 2021.
