Keith Hartley was named Chief Curator and Deputy Director at National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh.

One of his specialist areas of interest is modern German art.

He has curated a number of exhibitions on German artists, including Käthe Kollwitz, Otto Dix, John Heartfield, Georg Baselitz, Wols, Joseph Beuys, Gerhard Richter, August Sander and ‘The Romantic Spirit in German Art’. He has also written and lectured widely on the subject.
