Christopher Simon Sykes is a writer and photographer. He grew up at Sledmere.

He is a nephew from the author Christopher Sykes.

He specializes in architectural and garden photography, and writes on architecture and social history. Sykes worked with Eric Clapton on his autobiography, Clapton, and his work has appeared in publications such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, Town and Country, and Architechtural Digest.

Christopher’s photographic career began in the early 1970s with an assignment to follow the Rolling Stones on tour in the United States. He later gravitated towards interiors and architecture, and subsequently his name became synonymous with The World of Interiors and other international magazines, and – as both author and photographer – with books on stately homes and manor houses.

He wrote and presented Upper Crust, a six-part series on country house cookery for BBC2. He has written six and photographed fourteen books, including The National Trust Country House Album, The Rolling Stones on Tour and The Garden at Buckingham Palace.

He lives with his wife and daughter in North London.
