France 2 Cinéma is the business name of France 2 Cinéma SASU, a Paris based subsidiary of France Télévisions investing in French and European films.
Since 1979 it did so as a separate division by buying the distribution rights of yet to be produced movies after reading the script.
From 1979 to 1980 it thus pre-financed 43 French movies.
On December 22 1980 the company receives the permission by the French Governent to become a Film Producer and the company is founded May 20 1981 as France 2 Cinéma SASU.
Since it's creation France 2 Cinéma thus co-produced no less than 819 films as of 2016.
The president of the company is Delphine ERNOTTE-CUNCI as of 2016.
