General info :
Arte France Cinéma is the business name of Arte France Cinéma SA, a subsidiary of the European channel Arte.
In 1990 Pierre Chevalier founded Sept Cinéma, a subsidiary of La Sept Arte, responsible for producing quality TV programs and the co-production of independent films.
When in 2000 La Sept Arte became Arte France, Sept Cinéma subsequently became Arte France Cinéma.
Since its foundation, Arte France Cinéma has co-financed nearly 500 films and worked with 270 different directors from over 50 different nationalities.
The selected films receive funding of up to EUR 300 000. Some international movies may have their budget doubled when there is a collaboration with Germany.
