Jimmy Kets (born June 2, 1979 in Lier, Belgium) is a photojournalist and an expert in the art of photojournalism with more than two decades of experience.

Kets started his career as a press photographer for the newspaper De Morgen (2001-2008), which he would later exchange for De Standaard. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Belgian photo agency ID/ photo agency, through which his images are also distributed internationally. He is also known for his personal series and oeuvre. These include the photo series Brightside and Shot in Flanders.

Kets is an alumnus from Sint Lucas Antwerp where he obtained a master's degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.
Through his graduation project on street children in Kathmandu in Nepal, he got a job as a photographer for the daily newspaper De Morgen. In 2009 he switched to the daily newspaper De Standaard after seven years.

In 2009 his first photo book, Brightside, was published. This book brings together seven years of Kets' individual search for what photography means to him, both in terms of form and themes. That same year, the book Volkscafés, vrouwentongen & mannenpraat was published.
