General info :
James Truman (born ca. 1950) was the the former editorial director at Condé Nast Publications since 1994 whre he oversaw magazines like Vogue, Glamour and GQ.

He left the company in January 2005 after its chairman, S. I. Newhouse Jr., declined to approve his idea for a fine arts magazine.
In 2006 he helped creating the first issue of Culture and Travel, a new luxury travel magazine from LTB Media, a fine arts publishing company owned by Louise T. Blouin MacBain.
James Truman took over as chief executive and managing editor in 2005.
James Truman has also been a restaurateur for a while now, having joined with the hotelier André Balazs to fine-tune the mission, hire chefs and map out the menus at Narcissa, in the East Village, and at the celebrity-clotted Chiltern Firehouse in London. He has also run the farm that shares land with Locusts-on-Hudson, an upstate estate owned by Mr. Balazs.
