Gretchen Edgren (born born Gretchen Grondahl March 17, 1931, in Portland, Oregon, USA - died Sep. 16, 2015, Holmes Beach, Florida, USA (aged 84)) was an editor and author.

Before her retirement from the magazine in August 1992, Gretchen Edgren was a Senior Editor of Playboy. In that capacity, she assigned, edited and supervised copy for several sections of the magazine, and as a Playboy writer, she also interviewed a number of noted figures, including Erica Jong and Clint Eastwood.
Since her retirement, Edgren has been a Playboy Contributing Editor till 2013.
She is the author of coffee-table books about Playboy, its Playmates and the Playboy Mansion such as The Playboy Book Fifty Years (2005), The Playmate Book: Five Decades Of Centerfolds (1996), The Playmate Book: Six Decades of Centerfolds (2005), Inside the Playboy Mansion (1994) and The Playboy Book: Forty Years (1994).

After graduating with a degree in journalism from the University of Oregon, she worked on newspapers The Oregonian in Portland and the San Juan Star in Puerto Rico. She moved to Florida in 1992 from Oak Park, IL, where she was a president of the Civic Arts Council.
