General info :
André Ciganer is the eponymous brand name of a fur business founded by André Ciganer (born in 1898 - Balti, Moldavia - died in 1969 (aged 71)). André Ciganer fled the Soviet Union and changed his name from Aron CHOUGANOV to André CIGANER when he became naturalized French in 1955. He ran a luxurious fur and leather goods store at 56, rue François-1er, very close to the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The four children, Patrick, Christian, Ivan and the youngest Cécilia, are brought up in bourgeois comfort, without ostentation. André Ciganer offers three lines of high-end furs: André Ciganer haute couture, André Ciganer young boutique and Ciganer-Universal, which fashion magazines such as Vogue and L'Officiel present on glossy paper. His daughter Cécilia Maria Sara Isabel Ciganer-Albéniz would later be married to French president Nicolas Sarkozy in 1996.
