General info :
Arte Belgique was created in 2006 as the Belgian cultural window of Arte.
Recall that Arte means "Association Relative to European Television", and is based in Strasbourg, with equal funding from France and Germany.
By 2015 the budget allocated to Arte Belgium was only 1 million euros (instead of 2.7 million in the previous year).
Initially, RTBF, the Belgian public broadcaster, had to produce around 50 hours of Belgian programs for Arte and provide images for the news. Because of heavy savings, Belgian television never knew how to keep its commitments.
As of 2018 the Arte Belgique website is down and nowhere to be found on www.arte.tv
