Debra Zane is an award-winning casting director, based in Los Angeles, California, known for her work in film and television.
Zane has worked with some of the most successful directors in the world such as Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, and Steven Soderbergh.

Born and raised in Miami Beach, she is a second generation MBHS graduate. Debra graduated Sarah Lawrence College in 1983. She was the president of her class and served as the alumni chairperson in Los Angeles for years.

Debra Zane Casting was created in 1996 after Debra worked for seven years with casting director David Rubin. Among the over 60 films Debra has cast are: Get Shorty, Men in Black, Wag the Dog, Pleasantville, American Beauty, Galaxy Quest, Traffic, Ocean’s 11, 12, & 13, Catch Me If You Can, Seabiscuit, Jarhead, War of the Worlds, Dreamgirls, and next summer’s installment of the Indiana Jones franchise.

A member of the Casting Society of America, Debra has been nominated for their Artios® Award ten times and has won twice. In 2004, she was honored by the Hollywood Film Festival as Casting Director of the Year.

Debra is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Debra has been married to class of 1978 graduate, Jeff Jarkow, who has served as the CFO of Debra Zane Casting. They are the parents of Amy and Ben.
